Hello everyone,
It’s been a rough week emotionally for me. Not sure why, but I’m doing much better now. Thanks for all your continued prayers. I feel them and God’s gentle, ever present hand. I had someone approach me in a place I would have never expected, lay hands on me and pray over me. I didn’t even know this person was a believer. Two people sent messages of faith and hope. And one ever faithful friend sent a gift card and money. I received a check from another friend from a fund raiser she did for us. I’m feeling so blessed and loved right now.
I was thinking about the day we moved here to Boise ten years ago. I remember saying to Lulu that it felt strange not knowing a single person in this entire state besides the four of us. A lot has changed and I know we are loved by many here, now. It’s been a hard road and a lot of sacrifice but all worth it. Our kids, my wife and I have a lot to be thankful for. You are all a part of that blessing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I’m in the middle of my second five day cleanse/detox. It sure is a nice break from my daily routine. This one is not quite as demanding as the last. I’ve been having an allergic reaction to one of my supplements or something I’m eating. Please pray we figure it out soon so I can continue with my program without the added stress.
I mentioned in my last post that we were working on a t-shirt fund raiser. Well, they’re here! Pictures and costs will be coming soon. They’re embroidered with the pancreatic cancer awareness symbol of a purple ribbon with the words Faith, hope and healing. I’d like to give a special shout out to our friends Jeff and Shanel and their family, who are donating their time and machinery and showing their support and love by making these for us. You guys are the best.
I have a prayer request for my big brother Magdaleno Jr. (Indio.) He was recently diagnosed with advanced Liver cancer. As some of you know, he’s been in bad health for several years due to poor choices he’d made the majority of his life. Indio took losing our brother Mike (Guero) three years ago very hard. They were very close; and then losing mom less than a year after that hit him like a ton of bricks. His health has steadily gone down after that. I’m sure my diagnosis didn’t help either. He has chosen to go the route of traditional treatment and will be involved in an experimental course of treatment. Pray for healing and strength for him.
Our family has had its share of tragedy and heartache over the last few years. Pray for my dad and two sisters who also carry the pain of all this. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the blessing in all this pain, but I do. I know God is faithful and I choose to walk in faith and His continued goodness towards us.
Thank you for letting me vent and for being in the fight with me. Every prayer and word of encouragement is needed and appreciated. Also, keep giving as you’re able and God leads.
With much love and respect,
Dave

Update: Here is my attempt at getting you all caught up!
First of all, I’d like to apologize for not doing this
sooner. Being back at work full time and working my program are like having two
full time jobs!
I believe the last time I posted something was from New York
City. Everything went well. Lulu and I were very impressed with the knowledge
and professionalism of Dr. Isaacs. We both believe I’m in great hands under her
care. Dr. Isaacs’s analysis and plan was
specific and pinpointed all areas of need in my body. Every supplement, food
and detox treatment is designed to eradicate this cancer and my food program is
tailor made for my metabolism.
That said, it’s been difficult to do everything that’s
required in the time I have before and after work. This week was better than
last and I hope next week will even be better than this one. I just completed
my first 15 days of nearly 200 supplements a day! Every four hours, even
throughout the night as well as with each meal. When I get home from work at
11pm I still have two hours of detox to do before bed. I usually get in bed by
1:15am and I’m up at 5am for more supplements, back to sleep and up again at
9am for more; then I sleep till 10:30 or 11:00 at the latest. I get up and
start with my morning detox, breakfast with supplements and then get ready for
work. I have lunch with more supplements, wait an hour, then more before leaving
for work. Within a few hours of arriving at work I have more to take, then a
few hours later it’s dinner time and supplements with my meal and at 9pm I take
more. I work till 10:30 and am home by 11pm to start it over again.
I feel like I’m always playing catch up. I’m praying that it
becomes routine and much easier for me and Lulu. She’s the one who prepares all
my meals and fresh carrot juices 4 times a day. I absolutely couldn’t do it
without her. I thank Jesus for her patience and willingness to push me forward
and to be right there beside me.
I am now in my first five days of detox. I only take four
pills with meals during this time and I get to sleep a full night without
interruption. Yeah!!! Last night I still
woke up at 4:45am without an alarm clock. I hope tonight will be better. I took
off work during this time as the procedures I will be doing make it impossible
to be there. Thank God for an
understanding boss.
What are our needs? We have enough money to get us through
the next 2-3 months and then it’s looking pretty bleak. We have a T-shirt,
hoody fund raiser planned soon and my work is doing one too. God always seems
to provide what we need right when we need it. I am confident He will do the
same as the needs arise. We have also
received a bill from the hospital for the three times I was there to the tune
of 3 thousand dollars. We started making monthly payments. Also, everything I
eat or drink has to be organic which limits where we can shop. Whole Foods,
Trader Joe’s, Boise Coop, Rosauers, and Fred Meyer’s are primarily where we
shop and it’s usually expensive. Shopping takes a lot of time because we have
to read all the labels. Because of limits on the oils I am allowed to eat, even
many organic foods are not permitted for me. We buy some foods at CostCo which
helps with costs too.
Please continue to pray and believe for a complete healing,
I know God is able! Pray for a financial blessing and the grace to continue in
my program as I walk this path to wholeness and complete health. Thank you
again for prayers, kind words, gifts and financial blessing you have all given
to me and my family. I love you all.
